Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026 (version 1.1)
Borderwise (“the app”) is published by Chen Holdings Group, LLC. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
Data we collect
The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we do not operate servers that receive your information. If you use photo scanning or daily location logging, the app sends coordinates (precise location) to Apple’s geocoding service to work out which country you were in. This data is used only for that feature, is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking; we do not receive it.
Data stored on your device
The trips, countries, dates, counters, goals and profile details you enter are stored only on your iPhone. They are shared with the app’s Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets through a private app group on the same device. Your device backups (for example iCloud Backup) may include this data, under Apple’s policies.
Photos and location (optional)
From version 1.1 you can choose to scan your photo library or turn on daily location logging to fill in your travel history. The app reads the date and location saved with photos and videos, or your device’s current location, on your iPhone. To name the country, coordinates are sent to Apple’s geocoding service under Apple’s privacy policy. Photos, location history and imported files (Google Timeline, Flighty, calendar or CSV) are never sent to us. You can turn these off at any time in iOS Settings.
Travel proofs
Files, photos and links you attach to trips are stored in the app on your device and included in your device backups. They are shared only if you export them.
Maps
When you open the map, Apple Maps loads map tiles. Country pins use coordinates built into the app, so no country lookups are sent. Apple’s handling of map requests is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Notifications
Daily review reminders and limit alerts are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to us.
Export
If you export your travel history as a CSV file, it is shared only with the destination you choose in the iOS share sheet.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual trips in the app, clear your travel history or erase everything in Settings, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
